I was awe struck and dumbfounded when she called. It was Francesca. The dearest, sweetest, and most adorable wedding design/coordination assistant at Scheme Events. It is her job to help design and coordinate beautiful weddings; thus, she looks at beautiful wedding imagery all day long. So when she contacted me to ask if we could meet about me photographing her wedding, my jaw went agape, and my stomach did a somersault. We met up at an adorable lunch spot to talk about some basics, and my love for her grew… if that was possible. How could she be even sweeter than I had already known she was? Fast forward to a few days later when we officially signed her and David’s contract, and I was in disbelief. I was so honored to be the one that she chose to document her wedding, and already so nervous to please her.
When I showed up at JW Marriott that morning to begin photographing the getting ready details there was an amazing sense of calm. The team from Square Salon had already come and gone, and the bridesmaids and bride were relaxed and ready to begin the day. As I stepped into Francesca’s suite my breath was taken away by the gorgeous light tickling her dress which she had already placed on a dress form ready for me to photograph. Her details were divine, and the light illuminated the joy in the room.
David had a calm about him throughout the entire day. He seemed perfectly content. As though this day had been scheduled into his calendar all along.
My additional shooters, Kristen and Janelle, seriously knocked my socks off with their images. The images of David getting ready and this photo of Francesca’s Layers of Lovely bouquet are Kristen’s images.
Kristen also grabbed this shot of David’s reaction to seeing Francesca for the first time. They opted to do a first look which gave them an intimate moment together while also allowing for plenty of time to get all of their bridal party photos completed before the ceremony.
The wedding party was so incredible. And gorgeous to boot.
Patrick, the ring bearer, killed this striped bow tie. Like a boss.
These two images below are Janelle’s shots, and the photo on the right might be one of my ~favorite~ images from the day.
Francesca and David have dated for 9 years. And they fit together like a couple who has been married for decades. David really knew that he was onto something great keeping Francesca around, so he planned what has got to be the most amazing proposal story any girl could have ever asked for. He whisked Frannie away on a trip to New York. Just a weekend trip. No big deal. It was Christmas time, and they went to visit Rockefeller Center. While there, a familiar face delivered a ring box to David. When Frannie recognized the face of one of their good friends… her jaw dropped. Then she turned around a little more and saw even more familiar faces. David had flown in their best friends to witness the proposal and celebrate their commitment in the city that never sleeps. He proposed there, in front of their friends, in the middle of Rockefeller Center, during Christmas. To say there was magic in the air is a *huge* understatement. David promised to spend his life with Francesca that day, and I’m pretty sure he is going to keep that promise.

I adored these! Like you, I read them ages ago (when I was a teenager – ah youth), and giggled endlessly over pompous Amelia. I even considered naming my cat Bastet.
What GORGEOUS pictures…
