How do I begin writing a blog post when the bride is one of my dearest friends? As I sit here wondering where to start, memories are speeding through my brain. I’m shaking my head in laughter as I recount all of the hysterical memories I share with Amy. The glass elevator during double days. The mayonnaise. The E&J Brandy. I apologize for the inside jokes, but to tell the stories behind these memories would take me days.
Amy and I were incredibly close throughout college, and she was a bridesmaid in my wedding back in 2004. A few kids later, and she is still one of those friends who can stroll into my house on a Saturday and we can pick up exactly where we left off. Like time stood still in between us.
So when Amy met Bill… they were friends for a while… and I remember her talking about him and how much fun they had together. It wasn’t long before there was a twinkle in her eye each time that his name was brought up in conversation. That twinkle turned into something more than maybe any of us really expected. As I have come to know Bill over the years… seven loooong years, Bill… I have come to know that he is Amy’s counterpart. He looks at her with that same twinkle in his eye that I saw in Amy’s years ago. They are simply a perfect match, and I was beyond excited to be able to capture their beautiful country wedding at the JW Marriott.
