Kate filled out my contact form on my website.  She put her phone number down as the form of contact, and an email address.  For some reason her email address wasn’t working, and I couldn’t figure out how to make an international call from my cell phone as Kate and Rob live in Australia.  Of course, I wanted to chat with Kate about her wedding, but more importantly… I didn’t want her to think that I was just ignoring her contact form, so I set out on a mission.  You see, I have another bride in Australia… you might remember Nancy… who I absolutely adore.  We spend time every now and then chatting via Facebook, so I reached out to her to see if she could guide me through the process of calling Kate from my iPhone.  She was incredibly helpful, but I still wasn’t able to get through to Kate.  Without me knowing, Nancy put a call in to Kate.  Kate didn’t answer so Nancy left her a voicemail.  Kate returned Nancy’s call, and they ended up talking before I ever had the chance to talk to Kate myself.  I was amazed.  I couldn’t believe that Nancy would go to such lengths just to help me out.  But then again, I can… because Nancy is just down right amazing.

Kate and I emailed back and forth a few times, and without ever even speaking to her or Rob over the phone, they booked me to shoot their wedding next year.  After they booked, I did a bit of cyber stalking, and WOW!!  Kate and Rob are so incredibly gorgeous… as it seems that everyone from Australia (or living there since Kate is actually a native of Canada)!!

Kate and Rob came to Las Vegas to do some wedding planning, and enjoy the city a little bit, so we planned to have their engagement session that weekend as well.  They allowed me to pick them up from their hotel and drive them way out into the desert… not knowing if there was a shovel in the trunk of my car or not.  They trusted me to show them a little bit of the pretty side of Las Vegas, and they seemed incredibly smitten to have done so!!  We ran into wild horses on the side of the road, and witnessed an amazing sunset on our drive back into Las Vegas.

Scrolling through Kate’s Instagram and Facebook feeds sent me into a bit of a panic!!  She lives in gorgeous Australia… takes beautiful photographs herself… and has a beautiful beach, sunsets, and insane backdrops at her fingertips.  I was nervous to deliver photographs that could ever compare… but the Las Vegas desert, some beautiful sun flare, and two stunning people seem to have been the perfect combination!!

The lovelies over at Your Beauty Call were available to do a trial run for Kate’s engagement photos, and their work is always perfection!

Kate’s hat was such a fun addition to her photographs!!  Oh, and Rob was nice piece of arm candy to have around, as well!!

Kate and Rob will be married next year at Springs Preserve with the girls of Scheme Events on hand to make sure that every ‘i’ is dotted and every ‘t’ is crossed!  It is going to be spectacular, and I can’t wait to document it for them!!
